Robert Bruce established Value Chain Collaboration Associates (VCCA) to provide tailored strategic advisory services focused on defining a unique customer/consumer value proposition throughout the total retail manufacturing enterprise. Robert Bruce has over 30 years of “Real World” industry knowledge, experience and leadership in the Mass Retail, Grocery, Consumer Product Goods, and Apparel market segments. He has led the industry with practitioner knowledge and thought leadership in best in class and emerging best practices that focus on building integrated, collaborative and consumer driven relationships between trading partners throughout the extended enterprise to store shelf to factory floor.

Robert helped lead the vision, design, and implementation of a significant portion of Wal-Mart's integrated Supply Chain solution. One of the visions that Robert had was the process called Value Chain Collaboration over the extended retail enterprise using the Internet. This linking of demand and supply processes eventually lead Robert to pilot the concept called CFAR, Collaborative Forecasting and Replenishment, in 1995/1996. This successful pilot then lead Robert to develop and lead the VICS sponsorship for an Industry Standard in collaboration, CPFR, Collaborative Planning Forecasting and Replenishment. Robert continued to drive the industry leading the VICS/CPFR subcommittee on CPFR as Chairman while defining other collaborative applications in merchandise optimization and integrated transportation management. CPFR was only the middle step in a multi-step process of joint business collaboration “co-managing” all aspects of the business with a consumer focus.
